Informed Vendor Selection – How a Member Leveraged the Community Before Making an Expensive Decision

A data strategy leader in the Enterprise Data Strategy Board was going through the process of deciding on a major data catalog platform for their program.

Our Membership Director brought the community together and scheduled a series of facilitated, in-depth conversations around several different vendors and tools. This data leader joined the discussions and received candid insights from other leaders who had already worked with (and currently work with) the vendors. 

The Results

Ultimately, the Board Member was able to use the information he received from those community discussions when he entered into conversations with two different vendors and challenge them on specific points he’d gathered from his peers. This led to a better understanding between both parties on the services his company should expect from the tool.
