Chief Global Social Impact Officer Virginia Tenpenny discussed how they scale impact at Starbucks.

Virginia said she had always assumed she was destined to work at a nonprofit. Instead, she “stumbled upon an opportunity at Nordstrom, where I discovered the role of business in effecting social change.” Then she found her way to Starbucks, “a place that attracts people who are looking to be part of something bigger.”

She said, “At Starbucks, we do well because we do good, and it permeates every part of the business.”
