Amanda Nusz, Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at Target and President of the Target Foundation, talked about the company’s goal for 100% of their own products to be designed for circularity by 2040.
Their efforts will include some customer-education components, to inform shoppers about what to do with an item instead of tossing it in the trash. “A great example is packaging,” Nusz says. “What we think about is how to deliver packaging that is compostable, recyclable, or to just remove the packaging, and make sure that the guests understand by the label the packaging they ended up [with].”
